Poet Mahmud Toirov's poems have been performed by dozens of famous singers in our republic. The poet's long poems Oqib Ketgan Armonlar and Otamning O‘kinchi have won the attention of readers with their sincerity.
Poet Mahmud Toirov was born on August 31, 1952, in the village of Parkent, Parkent district, Tashkent region. Mahmud Toirov entered the Nizomiy secondary school in 1959 and graduated in 1969.
In the same year, he entered the evening department of the Faculty of Philology at Tashkent State University. He worked as a carpenter at a construction organization in the student campus.
Because he studied in the evening department, he served in the military from 1971 to 1973.
He returned from service in 1973 and continued his studies. He worked as a proofreader and head of the proofreading department at the former Yosh Gvardiya publishing house.
After graduating from the university in 1977, he continued his work at the main editorial office of broadcasts for children and youth of the Republican Radio.
In 1984, he was appointed editor of the newspaper Parkent Tongi. Starting from June 1999, he has also been serving as the executive secretary of the Tashkent regional branch of the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan.

Mahmud Toirov's creative work and labor activity were appropriately rewarded - in 2001 he was awarded the "Mehnat Shuhrati" order. In 2005, he was given the title of "People's Poet of Uzbekistan."
Mahmud Toirov's first poem was published under the title Tannoz Kelur in the Parkent district newspaper Sur’at while he was in the 7th grade of secondary school. His first collection, Ayt Endi, Yuragim, was published in 1991 at the Gafur Gulam Literature and Art Publishing House. Following this, the poet's collections Biz Nechun Uchrashdik (1992), Muhabbat Shevasi (1995), Oqib Ketgan Armonlar (1996), Barmoqlar Bodasi (1998), Haqni Tanib (1999), Yuz To‘rtlik (2002), and his Saylanma (2002) were published.
